Help shape the future of Boomanulla Oval

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to join the Interim Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–Government Joint Management Committee for Boomanulla Oval.

This committee will help guide the interim operations and develop a sustainable operating model for the transition of Boomanulla Oval to full Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community management.

Why join the committee?

ATSIEB is looking for people who care about the future of Boomanulla Oval and want to help create a strong, culturally safe and community-led space for sport, culture, health and youth development.

Committee members will bring:

  • community knowledge and lived experience
  • leadership and communication skills
  • a commitment to supporting the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Available positions

There are 4 Aboriginal community representative positions available.

The committee will also include:

  • one representative from the Ngunnawal community
  • one ATSIEB representative
  • ACT Government representatives.
The committee will be co-chaired by a community representative and a Government delegate.

This is an opportunity to help shape the future direction of an important community space and support stronger Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community leadership and decision-making.

If you’re interested in joining the committee, submit the following to atsieb@act.gov.au before 5 pm on 5 June 2026:

  • A short statement (up to 500 words) outlining your interest and relevant experience.
  • A brief resume or background summary (up to 2 pages) focused on experience relevant to the role of this committee.
  • Contact details for at least one ACT-based Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community referee.
