A big congratulations to all the finalists and recipients of the ACT NAIDOC Awards, we join the community in recognising and celebrating your achievements.

Chairperson Maurice Walker spoke on the night, saying, ‘These Awards are recognition from our Community and they are valued with pride because they do come from Community members nominating worthy recipients.

‘Another great night organised by the NAIDOC Corporation and enjoyed by all.’

Flag raising ceremony

This year we raised the flags at Boomanulla to NAIDOC Week with the theme The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy.

To us, that means raising the voices of young people as we hold the government accountable across the many areas that affect our mob, so the next generation’s futures are strong, bright and full of opportunity. It means celebrating the incredible achievements of young people in progressing rights and reconciliation. And it means making sure they always have the guidance they need to be strong in identity and purpose.

We hope you find lots of ways to celebrate NAIDOC week this week. See what’s on in Canberra.
