As we approach National Reconciliation Week, get your planner out and mark down these events. Search for more around your area too. National Reconciliation Week events are a chance for our community to come together, reflect, and take meaningful steps toward healing and reconciliation. We hope to see you around some of these events over this important week.

National Sorry Day – Sunday, 26 May 2025

Bridge Walk for Sorry Day

On 23 May, there will be a walk across Commonwealth Avenue Bridge to honour the Stolen Generations and acknowledge the ongoing journey toward healing. Meet at 10 am at Regatta Point, Parkes.

Community Gatherings

Many schools, community groups, and workplaces will hold events such as flag-raising ceremonies, morning teas, and storytelling sessions to commemorate National Sorry Day. Keep your eye on local news boards and newsletters.

National Reconciliation Week – Monday, 27 May to Monday, 3 June 2025

Reconciliation Week Walks

Take a guided walk at Reconciliation Place, exploring the significance of reconciliation and the stories of the national precinct.

Panel Talk: Djara and First Nations Sky Stories

Artist Lynnice Letty Church (Ngunnawal, Wiradjuri, and Kamilaroi peoples), educator Tyronne Bell (Ngunawal) and astrophysicist Peter Swanton (Gamilaraay and Yuwaalaraay peoples) share First Nations sky knowledge at the Canberra Museum and Gallery on Thursday, 29 May.

1000 Voices for Reconciliation

On May 30, 2025 in the Great Hall of Parliament House, 1,000 voices will come together to sing for reconciliation, peace, and unity. You can be a part of 1000 Voices for Reconciliation – A Yarning in Song.

Reconciliation Day Public Holiday – Monday, 2 June 2025

Reconciliation Day Event at Commonwealth Park

Join in a free, family-friendly event featuring live music, cultural performances, food stalls, and activities. This year’s headliner of the Reconciliation Day Event is Gomeroi rapper and storyteller Kobie Dee.

Let’s come together to honour the past, engage in the present, and build a future grounded in truth and respect.
