We have consulted with the community and have heard your honest views on what does and doesn’t work for our people in government policies, programs and services. Now it’s time to take your views to the ACT Government through the August 2025 Elected Body Hearings.
The Elected Body hearings bring the important priorities of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to the attention of the ACT Government. During the Hearings, we put your important questions to the ACT Government. It is a chance for the ACT Government to hear our calls and answer openly and honestly.
These Hearings are a vital opportunity to hold the Government accountable – not only to its own policies, but to the people those policies are meant to serve. The ACT Government must do more than acknowledge the issues. It must act on them. In this way, the Hearings drive real improvements to service delivery and policy development.
The Hearings are live streamed online. This is a very important part of our accountability to community – the ability to see your own representatives in the Elected Body holding the ACT Government and their senior executive representatives to account for their commitment and responsibilities as leaders in government.
2025 August Hearings are on:
- 12 August 9am to 4pm
- 13 August 9am to 4pm
- 14 August 9am to 3:30pm.
