Our work

The Elected Body represents Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Canberra. We take your ideas and concerns straight to the changemakers, so we can get results on issues that are important to us.

Voice to the ACT Government

We support all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Canberrans to be more engaged in shaping our own future.

The ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019–2028 helps to guide our work. It empowers our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community with the resources to come up with our own solutions.

Under ACT legislation, the Elected Body has a set of functions and responsibilities that we must follow to get outcomes for our community.  Each member has their own ACT Government portfolio responsibility. This means we have a direct involvement in the development of key agreements, policies and programs for our community.
